Politics: Liberal.
Orientation: Gay male. I came out in 1984, around the time of my 16th birthday. My partner Dennis and I have been together since 1994.
Religion: I'm atheist. My family on both sides historically belonged to the Church of the Brethren, going back many generations. I was brought up in mainstream Protestant churches. My own personal search for truth led me to become atheist in 1996. I respect all religious traditions, and like to learn about them.
Diet: Strict ethical vegetarian since 1983. I had decided by age 11 that meat-eating is against my values, but it wasn't until I was 15 that I could start cooking for myself.
